As a new member of SSRA, I noticed the association's website had fallen behind. It looked quite outdated and no longer reflected the quality of the association. I proposed a full redesign, which the board was happy to take me up on.
I handled the design entirely myself, which was a good challenge. Getting the look and feel right for an association you're actually a part of means you care about the result in a completely different way. The site was built on WordPress, with the popular Advanced Custom Fields giving the board enough flexibility to keep things updated without touching any code. The end result was a way better experience for new visitors to the site, which gave potential new members a way better feeling when entering the site.
